Davitt McAteer  Report to Governor Bob Wise In 2001 WV Governor Bob Wise requested that Davitt McAteer conduct a study of the rash of fatal accidents that had occurred in WV mines in the previous months, a level of fatal accident which was unprecedented in modern times. Mr. McAteer prepared a 70 page report, with recommendations some of which resulted in changes in WV regulations.
